Activities Coordinator

Salary: £12.75 (per hour)
Location: Broome Park
Hours: Full-time or Part-time Monday-Friday with occasional weekend/evenings for events.

About the Role

As our Activities Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to enrich the lives of our residents by helping them continue the hobbies, interests, and social connections they cherish. Whether it’s gardening, painting, singing, trips out, or simply enjoying a chat over tea, you will be the heartbeat of our resident’s social life.

As part of a small team, you will get to know each resident personally, learning their stories, passions, and preferences and use this insight to create engaging, inclusive, and stimulating activity programmes that reflect their individuality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help in delivering a vibrant calendar of group and one-to-one activities.
  • Create and advertise all social events within the home.
  • Develop personalised social care plans for each resident and review them regularly.
  • Organise internal and external recreational events, including community involvement.
  • Maintain a well-stocked inventory of hobby and craft materials.
  • Collaborate with families, staff, and local groups to enhance resident wellbeing.
  • Ensure spiritual needs are respected and supported.
  • Promote a warm, social atmosphere during mealtimes.
  • Keep social media updated with highlights from our activities.
  • Inspire and encourage all staff to participate in resident engagement.

What We are Looking For

  • A warm, friendly personality with excellent communication skills
  • Creativity, initiative, and a genuine passion for working with older adults.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Experience in activity planning or care settings is a plus, but heart and enthusiasm matter most!
